WARN 36031 12-Volt Motor Assembly Review

The Warn winch that came with my ATV burned out after about 60 hours of ATV use and only a couple test uses of the winch itself. It appeared to be a manufacturing defect with the brushes that caused a short and burned and melted the assembly that holds the brushes and also parts of the armature. This seems to be a rare defect with Warn winches, as I could not find any others who reported having a similar problem. The ATV was a 2005 model, and the winch was no longer covered by the 1 year winch warranty.

I bought this winch motor to replace the original. The replacement is relatively simple to accomplish, but it does require quite a bit of dissably of the winch mount and winch to replace the motor. It took me a an hour or so, but my mount is recessed and requires more disasseblt than others may.

Amazon had the best price for a new replacement motor that I could find on the internet. I'd buy here again.
