Product Description

All CURT hitches feature WeatherTite construction, which prevents rusting from the inside out by sealing the main body of the hitch. The receiver tube has an open back end to allow for easy cleaning and for dirt and moisture to pass through and not get trapped as is common with other brands of hitches. All CURT hitches come with mounting hardware and installation instructions. CURT is the only hitch company in the industry that mechanically de-scales all of our hitches before applying a thick powder coat finish, which is baked on for a high-gloss, smooth surface. CURT trailer hitches are simply the most attractive, most durable and toughest hitch on the market. You won t find better quality and value anywhere!

Curt Manufacturing 13574 Class III Receiver Review

Like many of the others said, the holes don't match up. Prepare for some drilling/enlarging above and beyond what is mentioned in the instructions.

For a 2011 Element (and probably others), the position of the ring in the back where the u-Bolt goes causes the main 4 frame bolts to not line up. You have to enlarge/elongate all 4 frame holes about 1/4 to 3/8" further to the back of the vehicle to get it to fit. Once you figure this out and do it, it isn't too bad. If the instructions had mentioned this in the beginning, it would have cut a few hours off the job. All of the other Curt hitches I've installed fit and install MUCH better.

A few hints that might speed the installation:
You only need to enlarge one (the back) hole on each side of the frame to fish the spacers into the frame channel. It helped to tie a string to the rear bolt to aid in dropping it into the hole (fish the string through to the front side hole and use it to help lift the bolt as you guide it into the rear spacer).

After it was installed, it looked great and tucked up right under the bumper.
