I purchased the CP721 in July of 1986. No that isn't a typo. This tool has been around that long (25 years at least) because it is outstanding. In fact, the only reason I am writing this review is because I was using the CP721 today and got to wondering if it was still being manufactured. A quick search on Amazon.com brought me hear.I have beat the living snot out of this tool and it still performs as good as day one. The only maintenance I've ever done was to occasionally squirt some light oil into the air hose port. I typically operate my air tools at 120 PSI instead of the recommended 90 PSI and it hasn't stopped the CP721 yet. (I do this to compensate for the pressure drop from the regulator to the end of the hose.)
The only thing I don't like about the CP721 is the directional selector. It is opposite of what you find on a cordless drill, for example. On a drill, you push the selector to the left to make the drill go clockwise. On the CP721 it's the opposite. I see the price has more than tripled since I bought it 25 years ago, but I'd buy it again at the new price if it's still made just as good at my old one.
