Thule Passage - 2 Bike Strap Rack with Cradles One Color, 2 Bike Review

On the plus side, I've had this bike rack for a number of years and up until recently, it's always been totally satisfactory. The rack is relatively strong, stable and economical. For occasional use this is a good buy.

On the negative side, over the years, the blue nylon straps deteriorated and have recently BROKEN while I was transporting two bikes. Needless to say, this is totally unacceptable for a rack of any age. I was also disappointed in the quality of the rubber bumpers that make contact with my car. Over time, these have flattened out and broke through, causing the metallic rack to come in contact with my car's finish.

5/8/13 note: I contacted Thule and asked if the unit was covered under their "lifetime" warrantee. The simple answer was "NO". They said the straps are considered a normal wear item and offered to sell me replacements for more than $35.00 including shipping and handling. Needless to say, I junked this rack.

If your a serious rider looking for a rack that will last as long as your bike does, this is not your best choice. I have since purchased a Yakima KINGJOE PRO 2.
