Before I bought this product I read lots of reviews on other types of crossbars, it seemed like everyone was complaining about wind noise! I will admit that I called every salvage yard in the area to try to get used original crossbars, but there were none to be found.

Some of the other reviewers for other types of crossbars claimed that they whistled like mad at even 30 mph! I got these because they were shaped differently. I'm glad I got these! While they are not as quiet as the originals would be, these were silent at the 30-50 MPH speeds, and it wasn't until I got up over 65 that I noticed some wind-noise. There was no loud annoying whistle, but you could tell that something was making some noise.

These were very easy to install, and it would take just a couple seconds to remove these before you go on a long trip. I'm going to use these to carry my Kayak, (I just use rubber bungee cords to tie it down), and I think I'll leave these in place as they are perfectly fine for normal use, (they don't make a lot of noise and look just fine on my Ford Freestyle). I would recommend these over the other types available on this site.
