K&N 57i Generation II Induction Kits are built primarily for European vehicles. They come with K&N's Million Mile Limited Warranty. These intake kits use only non-metallic rotationally molded tubes that can reduce air temperature and decrease intake sound over a metal tube. Restriction can exist BETWEEN an air filter and the engine reducing the benefit of a K&N Air Filter alone. The weakest link in the airflow "chain" robs a vehicle of its natural horsepower. Often that weak point is the factory air path leading to the engine. K&N Air Intake Kits virtually eliminate air path restriction by replacing the air filter and the entire air path to the engine. The aerodynamically engineered tube drives a massive amount of air into an engine, which translates into POWER. 57i Intakes are not legal for use in California and other US States adopting California emission standards.

I installed this intake kit on my 2001 BMW 325Ci. The instructions are very well written and easy to follow. (Just be sure to follow them exactly!) The entire installation took me about an hour and a half to perform. I don't even change the oil in my car myself, so I wasn't sure I should give it a go. But after reviewing the directions I thought, what the heck. Well, I did such a good job of it that, when it was all done, I thought I should have made a video to post on YouTube (because I hadn't found one for this exact installation).

So how did it turn out? Well, you can definitely tell it breathes a whole lot better. Being that I am a rather swift driver, I sure did feel a noticeable improvement in the get-up-and-go. That beautiful straight six just breathes better with this thing in there! Now I can hear the air being sucked in when I goose the throttle!

Let me make this recommendation to all of you whom may post reviews of anything you buy to install in your vehicle: ALWAYS be sure to indicate the year, make, and model of the vehicle you installed stuff into.
