I don't do a great deal of painting, but i do enough that this gun easily paid for itself. It is much cheaper to thin paint from a can than it is to buy spray paint, and you can mix any color you want. Mixing and cleaning are more work than can spray paint, but the results are much higher quality. This 1.0mm gun sprays about the same size as a can of spray paint but gives a much more even coat, and you can adjust the amount and size of the spray. This gives you tremendous control over each layer of paint. Personally, I wouldn't go any smaller than 1.0mm, as it gives plenty of precision and control for small objects. However this gun only lasted me about a year and a half before it started leaking terrible amounts of paint out the nozzle- a common complaint with this gun. It looks like i'll need to upgrade to something a little higher quality, and i'll probably go for a bigger nozzle... All in all it was a decent beginner gun that showed me what i could do with HVLP.
