Dorman 264-715 Oil Pan Review

I ended up contacting Dorman as to why these only fit 2004-2005 BEW engines (I cannot comment on fitting the 2.0 gas engines). Most other manufacturers say their all aluminum pans fit 1999-2005 both ALH and BEW engines. Dorman could not say why these wont, but since I've had a lot of bad luck with all aluminum aftermarket pans I decided to try one to see why. It turns out on ALH engines with the mechanical injection pump the A/C compressor sits lower and closer to the pan. The pan fits the block fine, but I had to unbolt the A/C compressor and grind back an unused mounting ear and a little of the front cover plate. I also removed a small amount of the steel lip on the pan at one of the bolts, this did not affect the pans integrity. The only downside I see it that you have to loosen the A/C compressor if you want to remove the pan again as it blocks access to two of the pan bolts now.

Alite Designs Mantis Chair (Black) Review

What a great design concept!! This is a super light weight chair with back support! It only sits 8" off the ground and does taking getting use to for getting in & out of it! Also sitting in it. Finding out what works best for you position and all. As you can see in the short video, the legs are a little wobbly. They are more beefy than other chairs in this style by other companies, but the wobbly legs concern me as other have stated their chairs have broken quickly. The chair boasts a 250# weight limit and I'm not even half that, but do take care in location of chair and use care when sitting in it as well. It looks a little like a tinker toy construction, and if they increased the ball size a bit and just a bit more to the legs, this would probably be a longer lasting and durable chair. They did add the very nice rubber tips on the legs, thick and rugged to keep dirt, mud and other junk out of the poles, good thinking :)

Don't get me wrong, I really love this chair, it is very comfortable for a rip stop design. And the quick set up thanks to the tent pole construction and ease of storage and transport is awesome! I would also like to see some lighter colors available for the hotter 90+ months, as dark colors are HOT on the skin. The mesh does provided some ventilation on a breezy day. I included some photo's as well. It also packs back up into bag easily.

UPDATE: spoke to rep at Alite who told me to tighten up the rope that runs thru the frame for each of the legs. Even after that the legs were still wobbly. Like the circumference of the legs were a few micrometers off, vs. the inner circumference of the frame to where legs are inserted. Alite says they know about the problems with the legs breaking but don't consider wobbly legs to the problem, as one rep stated the wobbly legs are so you can "rock" back in the chair ?

Bottom line: a little pricey, trying a different one to see if it is the same on each chair. too bad- might risk it, as the other qualities are very good. Guess just be careful during use.
